Our approach helps students and horses gain trust in each other. Through hard-work and dedication, students build coordination, confidence and exude assurance in their own abilities.
At Rocking Horse Farm, we teach our students to be responsible riders and caretakers of their horses, and we start that instruction from the very beginning.
Ideally, we would like all of our students to have riding pants, boots, and a
USEF-approved riding helmet. However we understand that riding lessons can be an introduction to the sport and you may want to wait before you invest in the proper equipment. The next best thing would be a pair of boots with a half-inch sole, a pair of jeans, and a snug fitting bicycle helmet. Shorts or nylon pants are not allowed due to safety issues.
When you are ready for regular lessons, we will encourage you to make the proper attire purchases, what you wear does affect how you ride. We will happily provide you with recommendations and guidance about how and what to buy once you’re ready to take your riding experience to the next level!
Students will get the most out of their riding experience if they ride at least once a week.
If for any reason you have to cancel a lesson, there will be a day and time set aside for anyone that needs to come and makeup a riding time.
With our indoor arena, we do offer lessons year-round.
