Getting to know Rocking Horse

Kaitlyn Flannery - Owner / Trainer / Instructor

Kaitlyn’s equestrian journey began on her family farm, where she grew up riding under the expert guidance of her Aunt Lillian. Under Lillian’s mentorship, Kaitlyn not only developed a deep understanding of horsemanship but also competed across New England and at the National and World Championship levels in a variety of divisions. Her passion for the sport led her to pursue a career as a professional trainer, prompting her to attend the highly respected William Woods University in Fulton, MO. There, she earned a degree in Equine Science, laying the foundation for her future success in the industry.

During her time at William Woods, Kaitlyn seized the opportunity to intern with some of the most accomplished and influential trainers in the equestrian world. She worked closely with industry leaders such as Mike Roberts, Brian Chappell, Ricky Cook, and Don Harris in Kentucky and Missouri, gaining invaluable hands-on experience that would shape her career as both a trainer and educator.

After graduating in 2010, Kaitlyn returned to Rocking Horse Farm, where she assumed the role of Assistant Trainer and Instructor. Working alongside Aunt Lillian, she played a pivotal role in the development and enhancement of the farm's show string and its diverse lesson program. As Lillian eventually retired, Kaitlyn took the reins of the business, continuing to expand and elevate the program. Under her leadership, Rocking Horse Farm's lesson program flourished, and Kaitlyn has become known for introducing new families to the world of show horses with warmth and expertise.

Specializing in American Saddlebreds, Morgans, and Hackneys, Rocking Horse Farm continues to excel in competition at all levels throughout New England. Kaitlyn’s commitment to supporting local horse shows has made RHF a hub for riders of all ages and their families, providing them with opportunities to showcase their talents in a supportive and engaging environment. But for those riders eager to push their limits and take their skills to the next level, Rocking Horse Farm is ready to guide them toward greater achievements, offering expert coaching, personalized training, and the tools necessary to succeed at the highest levels of competition.

After graduating in 2010, Kaitlyn returned to Rocking Horse Farm in order to become the Assistant Trainer and Instructor, working along-side Lillian to continue development and enhancement of the show-string and diverse lesson program. Lillian has since retired, and Kaitlyn continued to run the business. She grew the lesson program and enjoys bringing so many new families into the show horse world.

Kasey Roza - Instructor

Kasey’s love for horses began at just seven years old with her first pony, Gracie. She quickly found her passion for riding and showing, eventually stepping into the ring with her beloved Morgan, Joy. Her dedication, hard work, and enthusiasm only grew over the years, leading her to her current equine partner, Ari. Whether he’s playing with his toys in his stall, flashing his signature smile, or making his signature leaps in the victory pass, Ari is always keeping things exciting at RHF!

Kasey graduated from Norfolk Aggie in 2022 with a major in Equine Science while also serving as captain of the drill team. After graduation, she continued pursuing her passion and has been an invaluable part of the RHF team for nearly two years. From feeding and grooming horses to fixing stalls and even brushing the goats, Kasey does it all—and we can’t imagine RHF without her!
