Getting to know Rocking Horse
Kaitlyn Flannery - Trainer / Instructor
Kaitlyn grew up at the family farm riding under the direction of her Aunt Lillian. Under Lillian’s instruction, Kaitlyn competed throughout New England as well as on the National and World’s Championship levels in multiple divisions. She pursued her dream of becoming a Trainer by attending the foremost institution, William Woods University in Fulton, MO, where she obtained a degree in Equine Science. While a student at William Woods, Kaitlyn also had the opportunity to be an intern for some of the most renowned and experienced trainers in the business, working with Mike Roberts, Brian Chappell, Ricky Cook, and Don Harris in Kentucky and Missouri.
After graduating in 2010, Kaitlyn returned to Rocking Horse Farm in order to become the Assistant Trainer and Instructor, working along-side Lillian to continue development and enhancement of the show-string and diverse lesson program. Lillian has since retired, and Kaitlyn continued to run the business. She grew the lesson program and enjoys bringing so many new families into the show horse world.
Specializing in American Saddlebreds, Morgans, and Hackneys - Rocking Horse continues to compete at many levels throughout New England. Supporting all of the local horse shows is fun for the riders of all ages and their families. However, when you are ready to take it a step further RHF is ready to take you there!
Caitlyn Horton - Instructor
Caitlyn Horton started out riding in backyard farms within her local neighborhoods. She fell in love with the horses and the hard work that being in the barn provided. As she got older she always dreamed of showing one day.
Under the instruction of her trainer’s while riding Hunter/Jumper and Dressage, that dream came true. Her beloved farm soon closed down and to her dismay, Caitlyn stopped riding for a couple of years and went off to College to study Sociology. Despite being very far from the horse world, they still always found a way back to her.
Caitlyn started working at Rocking Horse Farm in 2018 and the rest is history. Her love for horses, riding, and now teaching students have become some of her biggest accomplishments and the things that she is most proud of while working alongside Kaitlyn Flannery. Her light continues to shine on all those around her and she is always looking forward to sharing her passion with others. She is a true asset to the RHF Riding Academy Program.
